BACK TO WINNING WAYS-
a scholarly colloquium

I remember when i was a 9th grader ,it was the first time i seriously put a step ahead into the world of erudite quizzers. My teacher always said -"you will have to earn atleast ten setbacks in order to be away from some of your drawbacks."
But this time around the statement seemed to be no longer tenable as we had already secured first place in the semi finals and too in our first ever venture into this brainstorming reality. But as the saying goes always wait till the end ,the end which was supposed to be finals,i realized that my teacher was right and our team was third which was not a bad position if we do not consider the fact that there were only three teams in the grand finale.Things have changed the competition now is even more fierce and the finishes are tantalizingly close.
As I entered into the auditorium I could already smell exuberance which was seemingly so delectable that within no time the entire auditorium was humming a tune which ,without any doubt ,was full of pressure points. The quiz began and began the round of straining and unfolding sedimentary layers of our brain.Questions were not at all tough but we had to look for the hint from our quizmaster.Questions were from everywhere be it from Anita Desai's inheritance of loss or Count Dracula. The preliminary round was hell of a lot intriguing with questions like - IF FREDDIE WAS #708 ,WHO WAS #1 and the answer being RAVI SHASTRI(guess how).
Results were declared .Six teams qualified for the city finals . And adding to the crowd's utter disappointment was my team not being selected(haha).
Now as the quiz is over I remember again my teacher's worlds and it gives me plethora of confidence as quite unknowingly i calculated and it came out to be my TENTH setback .
Cheers for my team's victories ahead.
